DIY Lip Balm Holder Do you know when you meet one of those projects that just reached your eye, and you can't stop thinking about it? Today, the lovely ladies of Find it, Make it, Love who are sharing one of those projects. I'm amazed at the stinking ' cute these adorable Ribbon Lip Balm Holders are. I have a whole family of peppers that absolutely LOVE one of these spokesmen, because they are lovers of lips balm and seem to be losing theirs all the time! I never leave the house without her, and if I do, there's a slight sense of panic-haha! This clip is a perfect way to add lipstick to every bag I have! This is what you need from the Tape Retreat: Some other supplies you will need: Measure and cut about 9 inches of tape. Use a lighter to seal the ends of the tape to prevent the framing. Now put the tape through the rotating clip and fold about 1/4 of the length of the tape. Then fold the bottom, using the lipstick as a guide. Pin instead. Sew both sides, leaving the clip instead. That's it! My girls have unfortunately followed my addiction steps to the lip balm and are very excited to cut this to their backpacks. It's a very good question, since I have no experience with this type of sewing machine. However, if the instructions say that you can sew light fabrics or stationery, you would be a little worried about sewing these tape-library balm supports. The Ribbon Retreat tape is a high-quality grosgrain, so it can be a bit rigid and even thicker than a lightweight fabric. I'd worry that your needle would break or that the machine wasn't strong enough to get through two layers of a thick tape. However, if you're sewing a satin tape or a fine tape, you might be fine. I'm not sure if this is providing help or not, but I hope you give you an idea of whether or not you wanted to use your small machine to make these lipstick supports. Another option would be to sew these supports or even use hot glue to seal the sides. If you end up using your machine to test them, please let me know how it goes.
